This newly renovated, modern-looking studio, perfect for two, is centrally located in the 9th arrondissement. It only a short walk to the 1st, 2nd and 8th arrondissements, or a very quick Metro to the Seine, Louvre, or trendy Marais neighborhood. (Of course when you are located this centrally, all of central Paris is also very accessible with a short Metro ride.)
The studio faces the central courtyard of a charming, very secure upscale
apartment building accessible by security code. A recessed alcove with a
little statue greets you on the way in, and the studio itself is newly
renovated, featuring a modern decor, with a full-size bed, large IKEA desk,
high speed Internet access, and an all-new shower with a detachable shower head for that massaging touch. The building is surrounded by cafes and food shops offering fresh seafood, fruit, pastries, and more.
About the Neighborhood
A diverse residential area popular among an artistic crowd. This Southern portion is similar to the 2nd arrondissement, with a mix of residential and business buildings. The Paris Opera is located here. Farther North is Pigalle, the fading Red Light district as well as the famous Moulin Rouge.
There are many wonderful restaurants, cafes, wine bars, food shops, supermarkets, bakeries, patisseries and specialty shops close by in the famous market street "rue des Martyrs". You will find a fabulous fromagerie, numerous patisseries and bakeries, butchers, fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, chocolate, herbs and spices and much more.
If you like shopping, you will be 3 blocks away from the largest retail store in Paris the oeGaleries Lafayette" at boulevard Haussman and rue Lafayette, which has the highest turnover of all stores in France. You will find everything there from exclusive beauty products and perfumes to designer clothing and great ideas for your interior.
Strolling down the Opera Avenue past the renovated old Opera building (as has been all the area by the way), you will find lots of interesting shops as well, and if you push a bit further, you are at the Louvre on one side or the Place Vendome on the other side with its jewelers, or the Rue Faubourg St Honore with all its very attractive Haute Couture stores, all this within 30 min walk (unless you stop at the various shop windows that is...).
